21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Severe  Cyclonic Storm

            According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “Mora” over North Bay of Bengal has crossed to Coasts of Bangladesh  between Chittagong  and  Cox's Bazar.

Under the influence of Severe Cyclonic Storm, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States with likelihood of  strong wind,  regionally and isolated heavyfall.

            Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45) m.p.h.

 

Advisory

Under the influence of Severe Cyclonic Storm, it may occur strong wind, heavy rainfall, flash flood and landslide during this time. Advisory for people living near high land areas, along Myanmar coasts, small river and streams is to take care of landslide and suddenly rise the rivers levels. Domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to avoid in condition of the Severe Cyclonic Storm.
