11-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Preassure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off Sri Lanka Coast) still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may reach over Sri Lanka - Tamil Nadu Coasts, India, during next 12 hrs. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

            According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, due to strong to vigorous monsoon over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and the wellmarked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls with strong wind during from today evening to(10.8.2022). 

During this period, rain are likely to be (3)inches (77-mm) and above in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States within (24)hours.

Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet in off and along Myanmar Coast.

          Due to strong to vigorous monsoon and the wellmarked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal, people should be awared the heavy rainfall with strong wind, the natural disasters such as flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
