26-12-2024:According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is partly cloudy over the Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hrs, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, fairly widespread in Kayah and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Southern Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperatures in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Southern Shan and  Rakhine States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C)  in Chauk, (41°C) each in Monywa and Aunglan.  The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hlaingbwe (2.17) inches, Mudon (1.97)inches, Hpa-an (1.93)inches, Bago (1.73)inches, Yay (1.49)inches, Myeik (1.20) inches, Naypyitaw (Theikchaung) and Tandaunggyi (0.98)inch each, Pathein and Kawthong (0.67)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th May, 2017: Weather will be partly cloudy in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Rakhine State. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times  Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.  Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar water.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
