SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.25) inches in Nyaung Oo, (3.46) inches in Kungyangon, (2.75) inches in Hakha, (2.60) inches in Ramthlo, (2.28) inches in Magway, (2.24) inches each in Minbu and Hmawbi(Agro-Met), (2.20) inches in Okkan, (2.13) inches in Manaung and (2.01) inches in Sittwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th October, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7– 9) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of weak monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
