SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Bago Regions and (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Kachin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Southern Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.37) inches in Kawthaung, (2.24) inches in Kyaukse, (2.20) inches in Myittha, (1.50) inches in Lunkyaw and (1.18) inches in Monyin.
BAY INFERENCE:Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES:According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Topical strom “LIONROCK” over the South ChinaSea is crossing to Hainan island and is moving to Northwestwards. It is forecast to move Upper Vietnam coasts on 11th October.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th October, 2021:Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Chin, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
