01-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Southwestwards and crossed North Tamil Nadu coast near Puducherry(India) and downgraded into a Deep depression. It is likely to move continuously West-Southwestwards and crossing the interior of Tamil Nadu(India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. It may further intensify in to a depression on (23.5.2021) and forecast to move North – Northwestwards. It is likely to intensify in to a Cyclonic Storm on (24.5.2021).

General caution

Due to the low pressure area, squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
