21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

 BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 5th August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing,Mandalay and Magway Regions,Kayah States,  fairly widespread in  Bago Region,Shan,Chin and  Rakhine States and  widespread   in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions,  Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along  Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of strong monsoon  in the Andaman Sea and  South Bay of Bengal.
