23-11-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has formed over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain have been widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Rakhine and Kayin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yay (3.74)inches, Moemate and Thaton (2.32)inches each, Kawthong (2.12)inches, Putao (2.05)inches, Zaung Tu (1.89)inches, Manaung (1.77)inches, Kyainseikkyi (1.68)inches and Sittwe (1.65)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is generally strong in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 13th July, 2015: Rain will be widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Kayin States, scattered in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Decrease of rain in the Rakhine State.
