23-11-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has formed over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours,

rain or thundershowers have been isolated in  Bago Region and Kayah State, scattered

in Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States, fairly widespread

in Lower Sagaing   Region, Kachin, Shan and Kayin States and widespread in the

remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and

Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyaukhtu (3.54)inches,

Phyarpon (3.50)inches, Coco Island (3.31) inches, Central Yangon (2.76)inches,

Katha (2.56)inches, Kalaywa (2.28)inches, Loilin (2.09)inches, Kyauktaw (1.57)inches

and Natogyi (1.50)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and

weak elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 12th July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers

will be isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago

Regions, Kachin, Shan and Rakhine States, widespread in Taninthayi Region and fairly

widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls

in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic,

Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls

may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Monsoon is generally strong in the

Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
