30-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 695 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 110 Nautical miles East of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions and Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayah State, fairly widespread in Bago and Yangon Regions,  Kachin and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Mudon (6.69)inches, Myauk U (5.94)inches, Kyauktaw (5.79)inches, Maungdaw (5.59)inches, Kyaukpyu (4.77) inches, Ann (4.64)inches,  Launglon (3.66)inches and Yay (3.50) inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 4th July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along  Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30 - 35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in the Northern Myanmar areas.
