16-11-2024: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay, a few cloud over the Central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past

(24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers

have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay

and Magway Regions, Shan State, fairly widespread in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon

States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls

in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded

were Kawthong (3.66) inches, Hinthada (3.46) inches, Kayan (2.99) inches,

Ngathaichaung (2.72) inches, Pathein (2.52) inches, Yangon (Mingaladon) (2.40)

inches and Central Yangon (2.36) inches.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today,

the low pressure area over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal

still persists. It may further intensify into a depression next (12) hours. Monsoon is

strong in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 21st June, 2015: Rain or

thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State,

scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan State,

fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining

Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and

Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and  Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and

along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in the Rakhine Coasts.
