SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Kachin, Southern Shan and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway and Yangon Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Yangon(Northern Dagon) (4.25)inches, Myaungmya (3.94) inches, Hpapun (3.66)inches, Hainggyigyun (3.27)inches, Okpho (2.95)inches, Yangon(Kabaaye) (2.92)inches, Hinthada (2.76)inches, Bago (2.71)inches, Maubin (2.68)inches and Zaung Tu (2.65)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and Odisha coast (India) still persists. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st AUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
