BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and Odisha still persists. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 20thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Northern and Southern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 - 10) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
