BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the North Bay and moderate over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the tropical storm “Bebinca” over the South China Sea has reached to Gulf of Tonkin, its centered at about (130)miles East-Southeast of Hanoi (Vietnam) and it is forecast to move Southwestwards slowly.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Kayin State and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (4 -8) feet in off and along Motamma, Mon- Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago Region, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
