SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T:   During the past

(24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi

Regions, Kachin and Kayin States, faily widespread in Chin and Mon States,

scattered in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan State, isolated in Upper Sagaing

Region and Rakhine State, weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions

and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperature in

Upper Sagaing Region, (5°C) to (6°C) below May average temperatures in Bago,

Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) below

May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State, about May

average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant

day temperatures were (42°C) in Gangaw, (40°C) each in Kalay, Nyaung Oo,

Chauk and Pauk. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were

Kyainseikkyi (2.86) inches, Central Yangon (2.60) inches, Launglon (2.20) inches,

Yay (1.97) inches, Dawei (1.73) inches, Tagaung  (1.69) inches and

Coco Island (1.57)inches.  

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea,

South and East Central Bay and weather is partly cloudy elsewhere in the

Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 25th May, 2015: Rain or

thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway

Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Shan and

Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions,

Chin and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States.

Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off

and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h

to (40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuation of increase of rain in the

Southern Myanmar areas.

Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (80%).
