SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Mon States, scattered in Kachin and (Eastern and Southern)Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Mandalay Region, Kachin, Southern Shan and Rakhine State and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk and (41°C)each in Tharrawady and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyaukmae (2.09)inches, Thipaw (1.33)inches, Lashio (0.98)inch, Homalin (0.86)inch, Naungcho, Pinlaebu and Mudon (0.75)inch each, Mogoke (0.63)inch, Tamu (0.59)inch, Shwebo and Labutta (0.55)inch each, Thaton (0.51)inch and Mingin (0.47) inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Northern Shan, Chin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, (Eastern and Southern) Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 7) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
