SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region, scattered in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Chin States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region, Kayah and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and weather is partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (2°C) below April average temperatures in (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Kayin States, (5°C) below April average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk and (40°C) in Nyaung Oo. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Sagaing (1.88)inches, Mandalay (1.53)inches, Monywa (1.30)inches, Amarapura (1.24)inches, Madaya (1.14)inches, Shwekyin (1.06)inches, Machanbaw (0.87)inch, Myeik (0.79)inch, Kyaukmae (0.71)inch, Namsam (0.67) inch and Kyemone (0.63)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (11:30)hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely to further intensity into a depression. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few clouds to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 01st MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin State, fairly widespread in Shan, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Chin and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4 - 6)feet elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
