SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States, isolated in Mandalay Region and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above April average temperatures in Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above April average temperatures in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, (3°C) below April average temperature in Kachin State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (44°C) in Chauk, (43°C) in Sinphyugyun, (42°C) each in Minbu, Magway, Taunggu and Hinthada. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Thipaw (0.91)inch, Mawlaik (0.20)inch, Putao (0.16)inch, Machanbaw and Tamu (0.12)inch each and Hkamti (0.08)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17thAPRIL, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Taninthayi Region and (Northern and Southern) Shan State, isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Chin and Kayah States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
