26-11-2024:According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 790 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar) and 480 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai(India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy  over the North Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past

(24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Rakhine State, rain or thundershowers

have been widespread in Kayin State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and

Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing,

Mandalay, Bago and Yangon Regions, Chin  and Mon States, isolated in the remaining

Regions with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. Day temperatures were (5°C)

below April average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region, Eastern Shan and

Chin States,(3°C) to (4°C) below April average temperatures in Upper Sagaing

and Magway Regions, Kachin, Kayah and Kayin States and    about April average

temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day

temperatures were (40°C) each in Naypyitaw (Airport), Aunglan and Kyobinkauk.

The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myeik (4.73) inches, Loikaw

(1.85) inches, Ngathaichaung (1.10)inches, Naypyitaw (Laiway) (1.06) inches and

Kengtung (0.94) inch.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 28th April, 2015: Rain or thundershowers

will be scattered in Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States

and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off

and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30)

to (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of rain or

thundershowers in the Nothern Myanmar areas.
