Deep Depression

According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has almost stationary. It is centered at about 725 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 255 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 999 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35-40 miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Deep Depression is coded as yellow stage.

 

Forecast

 It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may cross near Sri Lanka Coast and further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is Likely to continue to move north-northwestwards and may cross North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry Coasts(India) as a Deep Depression  around of 30-11-2024.

Due to the Deep Depression, rain are likely to be isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States from today noon up to 30-11-2024.
