Severe Cyclonic Storm “DANA” Condition
According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “DANA” over Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved North westwards and has intensified into a Severe Cyclonic Storm “DANA”. It is centered at about 365 Nautical miles West-NorthWestwards of Gwa(Myanmar), 165 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Dhamara, Odisha(India). The central pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 990 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 55-65 miles per hour.
It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Severe Cyclonic Storm “DANA” is coded as yellow stage.
Forecast
It is likely to continute to move Northwestwards and cross North Odisha and West Bengal Coasts between Puri and Sagar Island close to Dhamara(India) early morning of 25-10-2024.
Due to the Severe Cyclonic Storm “DANA”, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespresd to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls and strong winds during next (24)hrs.
Frequently squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (50-55) m.p.h and wave height will be about (11-15) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
