BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “DANA” over Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved North westwards and has intensified into a Severe Cyclonic Storm “DANA”. It is centered at about 365 Nautical miles West-NorthWestwards of Gwa(Myanmar), 165 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Dhamara, Odisha(India). The central pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 990 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 55-65 miles per hour.Weather is cloudy over the Nourth Bay and Central Bay of Bengal and over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 24th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Eastern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in  Kayin State,  fairly windspread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Southern Shan, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay,Mgway Regions and Kachin, Chin States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagain Region and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 50-55 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 11-15 feet o in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 24th October 2024:       Isolated rain or thundershowers with sunny periods. Degree of certainty is 100%.
