20-12-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours and it is likely to move North-Northeastwards during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has further intensified into a Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 560 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1002) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour at (05:30)hrs MST today.Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 16th October 2024: Weather will be partly cloudy in Magway Region and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Yangon Regions and Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 16th October 2024:                       Likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers with sunny periods. Degree of certainty is 60%.
