24-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, it is likely continue to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Rakhine, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Mon States, scattered in Magway Region and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and  isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.97 inches in Chauk, 1.73 inches in Hkamti, 1.69 inches in Tada U(Avia-Met), 1.57 inches in Yeu, 1.54 inches each in Mingin and Kanbalu, 1.38 inches in Zaung Tu, 1.18 inches in Myinmu, 1.14 inches in Loilin and 1.12 inches in Singaing.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th October 2024: Weather will be partly cloudy in Rakhine State. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Mon States, scattered in Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 12th October 2024:      Isolated light rain or thundershowers with sunny period. Degree of certainty is 60%.
