SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw and Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayah, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.44 inches in Khayan, 2.40 inches in Thabaung, 2.32 inches in Hmawbi, 2.28 inches each in Seiktha and Kamamaung, 2.25 inches in Bogale, 1.92 inches Belin, 1.78 inches in Nyaung Shwe and 1.70 inches each in Mingin and Kyaiklat.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off north Andhra Pradesh- south Odisha coast, India) has moved Northwestwards and weakened over South Chhattisgarh, India. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in (Northern and Eastern)Shan,  Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from Central Myanmar areas.
