21-12-2024: According to the observations at (03:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal further intensified into a Depression and reached over Westcentral Bay of Bengal(off Andhra Pradesh coast). It is centered at about 565 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South of Visakhapatnam(India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Yangon Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Southern Shan, Mon States and widespread in Taninthayi Region with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.07 inches in Kawthaug, 2.28 inches in Phyu, 1.50 inches in Pyawbwe, 1.38 inches in Ela, 1.26 inches in Hpa-an, 1.14 inches in Laiway, 1.09 inches in Danubyu, 1.06 inches in Kamamaung, 0.84 inch in Aunglan and 0.75 inch in Tatkon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the land depression over the central part of Laos has moved Westwards and reached Eastern part of Thailand. It was downgraded into a Low Pressure Cell. The Low Pressure Cell and remanant clouds are likely continue to move Westwards and crossing to Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions(Myanmar) and Northern Andaman Sea during next (24)hours. Thereafter, continue to move Westwards and it may re-initiate into a Low Pressure Area over central Bay of Bengal on (23-9-2024).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin States, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
