29-11-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 670 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 200 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 185 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “SOULIK” over  South China Sea has moved West-Southwestwards and it is centered at about 80 Nautical miles Northwest of Da Nang(Vietnam). It is likely to cross to the Central coast of Vietnam at tonight. The remnant clouds and wind wave from the Tropical Storm “SOULIK” start cross over Southeastern parts of Myanmar and then continue to move West-Southwestwards and it may re-initiate into a Low Pressure Area over the Andaman sea and Bay of Bengal on (20-9-2024).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandaly, Magway, Bago Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
