SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.51 inches in Kawthaung, 3.39 inches in Ann, 2.21 inches in Putao, 2.16 inches in Mawlaik, 1.85 inch in Myeik, 1.65 inches in Kungyangon, 1.22 inches in Yangon(Botahtaung), 1.06 inches each in Manaung, Nyaungdon and Ye, 1.03 inches in Bogale and 1.02 inches in Kyaunggon.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the West Bengal(India) and adjoining Bangladesh almost stationary still persists. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway, Bago, Yangon Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
