22-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression Condition

            According to the observations at (05:30) hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the interior of West Bengal (India) almost stationary still persists . 

During next (48) hrs forecast

The Deep Depression is likely to move slowly Westwards and may cross continue inland of India and weaken into a Depression during next 48 hours.

General caution

Due to the Deep Depression, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Chin, Rakhine States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls and scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions with heavy rainfalls from today morning to next (24)hrs. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 8 - 10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

Advisory

Under the influence of deep depression, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
