29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.38 inches in Ye, 5.67 inches in Kawkareik, 4.17 inches in Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), 4.00 inches in Paing Kyone, 3.98 inches in Paung, 3.33 inches in Patheingyi, 3.30 inches in Minesat, 3.15 inches in Hpa-an, 2.99 inches in Mawlamyine and 2.83 inches in Hkamti.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards and reach to Bay of Bengal and crossing Odisha coasts near Puri(India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Cells over Northern Laos has moved West-Northwestwards still persists. It may weaken gradually into a wave and likely to move continue West-Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Chin State, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph.  Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
