24-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.71 inches in Dawei, 3.46 inches in Myeik, 2.71 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.28 inches in Coco-Island, 2.24 inches in Ye, 1.97 inches in Bago, 1.34 inches in Kawthaung, 1.26 inches in Hainggyigyun and 1.06 inches in Zaung Tu.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4 - 7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
