01-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Southwestwards and crossed North Tamil Nadu coast near Puducherry(India) and downgraded into a Deep depression. It is likely to move continuously West-Southwestwards and crossing the interior of Tamil Nadu(India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Chin and Kayah States, scattered in Mandalay Region and Shan state, isolated in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady and  Taninthayi Regions, Mon State and  weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were  (4°C) above April average temperatures in Kachin State, (3°C) below April average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about April average temperatures in  the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (42°C) in Kyobinkauk and (41°C) each in Nyaung OO, Chauk, Minbu and  Magway. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Bawlakhae (1.57) inches, Taunggyi and Yamethin (1.45) inches each, Hakha (1.38) inches and Pyinmana (0.98) inch.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 15th April, 2015: Rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered in Shan, Chin and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (60%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic,Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly wind may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in the eastern Myanmar areas.
