SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Kayin States and isolated heavyfalls in Southern Shan, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.66 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 3.35 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.03 inches in Pinlaung, 3.00 inches in Paing Kyone, 2.95 inches in Belin, 2.72 inches in Mudon, 2.44 inches in Ann, 2.36 inches each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Madauk and 2.28 inches in Phyu.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
