23-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastern Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.35 inches in Ye, 7.60 inches in Myeik, 6.30 inches in Kyonpyaw, 5.59 inches in Kyaukpyu, 5.36 inches in Dawei, 4.53 inches in Zalun, 4.49 inches in Mudon, 4.02 inches in Okkan, 3.94 inches in Gwa and 3.78 inches in Manaung.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
