SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 11.10 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 10.06 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 9.37 inches in Mudon, 8.15 inches in Shwekyin, 8.07 inches each in Madauk and Chaungsone, 7.60 inches in Kyeikkhame, 6.97 inches in Paung, 6.46 inches in Mawlamyine, 6.30 inches each in Hlaingbwe and Shan-Ywar-Thit and 5.98 inches in Kyaukpyu.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 11-14 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
