24-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kachin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.69 inches in Mogaung, 5.39 inches in Hkamti, 4.45 inches in Ann, 4.41 inches in Myitkyina, 4.28 inches in Sittwe, 3.54 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 2.83 inches each in Homalin and Kyaukphyu, 2.28 inches in Theinzayet, 2.05 inches in Shwekyin and 1.85 inches in Gwa.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
