24-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions, scattered in Magway Region and Southern Shan, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.48 inches in Labutta, 2.37 inches in Khayan, 2.16 inches in Homalin, 1.93 inches in Gyobingauk, 1.85 inches in Hakha, 1.82 inches in Hkamti, 1.77 inches in Paung Byin, 1.65 inches in Hmawbi, 1.62 inches in Bago and 1.57 inches in Tamu.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and moderate to strong over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th June 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States.
