25-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.40 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 2.36 inches in Ye, 2.17 inches in Manaung, 2.01 inches each in Sittwe and Kyonepyaw, 1.85 inches in Thandwe, 1.81 inches in Wakema, 1.77 inches each in Kyaukpyu, Gwa and Myeik, 1.42 inches in Khayan, 1.34 inches in Ngathaichaung and 1.23 inches in Taunggu.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21stJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in (Southern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region.
