30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Eastern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Tanintharyi Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.12 inches each in Paung and Kyeikmayaw, 5.00 inches in Thandwe, 4.02 inches in Gwa, 3.54 inches in Ye, 3.19 inches in Mudon, 3.15 inches in Gyobingauk, 3.03 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.80 inches in Chaungsone, 2.68 inches each in Labutta and Hainggyigyun, 2.46 inches each in Mogaung and Kya-In-Seikkyi and 2.32 inches in Manaung.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in

Chin State, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
