26-12-2024:According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India)has weaken. Weather is generally fair in North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States. Day temperatures were 5°C above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region, 2°C below May average temperatures in Kachin, Nothern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and 3°C to 4 below May average temperatures in Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Kayah States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and about May average temperatures in Eastern Shan, Rakhine States. The significant day temperatures were observed 36.7°C in Kawthaung, 36.5°C in Myeik, 36.2°C in Zaung Tu, 34.7°C in Moemate, 33.6°C in Dawei, 33.5°C in Nyaung Oo, 33.3°C in Myinmu and 33.2°C in Ye U on 27-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.16 inches in Gwa, 3.86 inches in Tamu, 3.70 inches in Paung, 3.62 inches in Pinlaung, 2.95 inches in Taungkok, 2.64 inches in Thandwe, 2.56 inches in Thaton, 2.40 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit and 2.32 inches in Mawlamyine.

 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and strong over the Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Nothern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States . Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) mph.  Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Rakhine Coasts and 6-8 feet in off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of thundery activities in Northern Myanmar areas.
