BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu-South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India still persists. It is likely to move northeastwards and intensify into a Depression over Central Bay of Bengal around 24-5-2024. Thereafter, it may continue to move northeastwards, further intensify and reach Northeast and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal around 25-5-2024 evening. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 23rd May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw , Magway Region and Kayah State and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph. Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and 7-9 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
