26-12-2024:According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India)has weaken. Weather is generally fair in North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Mon States and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 7°C to 8°C above May average temperatures in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayin State, 6°C above May average temperature in Northern Shan State, 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Mon States and 2°C above May average temperature in Kachin State. The significant day temperatures were observed 46.3°C in Chauk, 45.0°C each in Myingyan and Tada U (Aviation-Met), 44.8°C in Minbu, 44.6°C in Myinmu, 44.5°C in Nyaung Oo, 44.4°C in Monywa,  44.3°C in Magway and 44.0°C each in Shwebo and Mandalay on 17-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.80 inches in Mogoke, 2.64 inches in Thaton, 1.77 inches in Lashio, 1.54 inches in Tharrawady, 0.75 inch in Mongyang, 0.67 inch in Namsam(Southern Shan), 0.63 inch each in Myitkyina and Loilin and 0.39 inch in Mandalay(Chanayethazan).

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Chin, Mon States, scattered in Mandalay Region and Shan, Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
