SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin States.The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (10.24) inches in Hainggyigyun, (7.09) inches in Mudon, (6.73) inches in Launglon, (6.58) inches in Dawei, (6.30) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (5.71) inches in Mawlamyine, (5.55) inches in Bhamo, (5.16) inches in Paung, (5.12) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (5.08) inches in Belin, (3.74) inches in Ye, (3.43)inches in Manaung and (3.26)inches in Thaton.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd August, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, NorthernShan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing,Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine,Kayin States.Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Moderate Monsoon.
