SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Shan(South and East), Kayah, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (2°C) above January average temperatures in Bago Region and Eastern Shan State, (3°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan, Kayah States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (4°C) each in Putao and Mindat, (5°C) in Machanbaw, (6°C) each in Loilin, Ramthlo and Pyinoolwin and (7°C) each in Monyin, Kyaukmae, Namsam, Pinlaung and Mogoke.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 02nd January, 2021: Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Shan (South and East) State and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT: Likelihood of decrease of night temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States .
