General Weather Outlook for 2026-2027 Winter Season

Bay of Bengal Condition

                Seven low pressure areas may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and four may further intensify into the depressions. Weather will be a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain Condition

                 Rain or thundershowers will be above normal in Yangon, East Bago Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern & Eastern) Shan States, below normal in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States and about normal in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, West Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Northern Shan States.

Day Temperature

Day Temperature will be (1.5°C) above normal of Winter average Temperatures  in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayayerwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern & Eastern) Shan States and about normal of Winter average Temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States.  

Night Temperature

      Night Temperature will be (1.5°C) above normal of Winter average Temperatures  in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayayerwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern & Eastern) Shan States and about normal of Winter average Temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States.  

Foggy Condition

          The localized foggy weather phenomena and dense fog in Coastal zones, mountainous areas during Winter Season is typical. (Foggy weather forecast will be updated every month for respective areas.)
