SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.27 inches in Khayan, 2.95 inches in Naypyitaw(Pobbathiri), 2.72 inches in Mudon, 2.64 inches in Mogaung, 2.60 inches in Naypyitaw (Ottarathiri), 2.52 inches in Myitkyina, 2.44 inches in Putao, 2.31 inches in Myeik, 2.20 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and 1.97 inches each in Belin and Einme.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and moderate over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the Southwest Bay of Bengal  and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th July 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scatterd in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
