SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.98 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 3.94 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 3.84 inches in Kyaukpyu, 3.39 inches in Machanbaw, 3.35 inches in Thabeikkyin, 3.19 inches in Sittwe, 2.52 inches in Loilin, 2.50 inches in Kyaiklat, 2.40 inches in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) and 2.37 inches in Naypyitaw(Dekkhinathiri).
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd July 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scatterd in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
