SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Bago, Magway Regions and Kayin State, fairly widespread in Mon State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Kachin, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.66 inches in Sittwe, 3.54 inches in Myitkyina, 1.85 inches in Shwegu, 1.57 inches in Mogok, 1.41 inches in Mogaung, 1.38 inches each in Homalin and Katha, 1.22 inches in Labutta, 1.18 inches each in Manaung and Tachileik and 1.03 inches in Kengtung.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st July 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scatterd in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
