SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah, Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.25 inches in Myitkyina, 3.15 inches in Pyinoolwin, 2.05 inches in Madauk, 1.93 inches in Shwekyin, 1.65 inches in Hkamti, 1.14 inches in Yamethin, 0.99 inch in Kyaukmae,  0.95 inch in Hsipaw, 0.91 inch in Lashio and 0.75 inch each in Katha, Pathein and Putao.

BAY INFERENCEMonsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scatterd in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States.
