SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.53 inches in Chaungsone, 4.09 inches in Ye, 4.07 inches in Thaton, 3.82 inches in Mudon, 3.63 inches in Mawlamyine, 3.54 inches each in Hlegu and Dawei, 3.46 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.26 inches in Hpa-an, 2.95 inches in Kungyangon and 2.85 inches in Kyeiklat.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha -West Bengal Coasts, India has intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. It is likely to move Northwestwards and cross over North Odisha -West Bengal, India. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of  Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scatterd in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States.
